Chocolate Toffee Bark!!

Merry Christmas Y’all!! Every Christmas since I was a kid, I’ve loved looking forward to THIS chocolate toffee bark!! The crunchy bottom layer, sweet & salty toffee layer, creamy chocolate layer, and toffee bits on top!! It’s sooooo yummy!! I know you’ll love it too!! Here’s what you’ll need!

 

INGREDIENTS:

1-1/4c sugar 

1/3c light corn syrup 

1/3c water 

2 sticks butter cut into cubes

1tsp salt

1/2tsp baking soda 

15 oz. Chocolate chips 

saltine crackers 

Heath bar toffee bits 

 

DIRECTIONS:

1. Line baking sheet with foil, and saltines to make bottom layer.

2. Toffee: Over medium heat, combine water, corn syrup, sugar, until melted. Slowly add cubes of butter, stir, add butter, stir, and continue with all butter cubes, stirring between additions. Stir until caramelized, a light golden in color.

3. Remove toffee from heat. Add baking soda, stir. Add salt, and stir.

4. Pour toffee over sheet of saltines, spreading evenly. Let cool.


5. Melt chocolate chips and spread over cooled toffee. 

6. Sprinkle toffee bits over chocolate. 

7. Place in fridge to chill.

8. Once chilled, cut into squares and ENJOY!!
