Summer Spicy Watermelon Margarita!

Misfits Market & Spicy Watermelon Margarita!

Hey friends!

Have you heard of subscription boxes that delivery fruit and veggies right to your front door? We've tried two this summer, and by far, we love Misfits Market the best!! They fill the box to the top of organic fruits & veggies, that we've selected from their website! They are "imperfect" and aren't "fit" for grocery stores, so they cost less! But, honestly, I don't see any wonkiness about them! They're just as delicious, and less expensive! I call that a win win!!

Our kids get so excited when the box arrives at the front door!! It's like a yummy surprise and we all get frantic to open the box and dive in!! Easy delivery when your doorbell rings! No fuss of grocery lines and kids in tow frustration! We've received Roma tomatoes, grape tomatoes, chilli peppers, kale, lots of greens, green peppers, zucchini, cucumbers, carrots, radishes, lemons, limes, potatoes, apples, peaches, watermelon, cantaloupe, and so much more! I definitely recommend you check out their website!! www.misfitsmarket.com!!

Our most recent box included this recipe for a Spicy Watermelon Margarita!! Say whattt???!! How perfect is that for summer!! I just had to share this with y'all!! I hope y'all enjoy it!!

 Ingredients:

  1. 1 TBSP kosher salt
  2. 1 TBSP chili powder
  3. 1 baby watermelon, cubed
  4. 8 oz. tequila
  5. 6 oz. lime juice
  6. 2 oz. agave or simple syrup
  7. 1 jalapeno pepper, thinly sliced
  8. Lime wheels or wedges for garnish

 Directions:

  1. Add salt and chili pepper on a small plate, and mix with fork. Rub rim of glass with lime wedges, then dip glass rim in salt mixture.
  2. Puree watermelon cubes in blender until smooth. Strain through a sieve into large measuring glass. The juice of one baby watermelon will yield about 2 cups of juice, which will make approx 8 margaritas.
  3. For a single margarita: In a cocktail shaker, add 2-3 jalapeño slices and muddle. Add 2 oz watermelon juice, 1 oz tequila, 3/4 oz lime juice, and 1/4 oz agave. Fill shaker with ice, cover, and shake until outside of shaker is very cold, about 20 seconds. Strain cocktail into a glass. Garnish with lime wheel and enjoy!

I hope y'all are having a great summer while it lasts!!
